Most of what we can learn about your pet’s health can only be found with the help of our advanced diagnostic tools. These tools allow us to create a more complete picture of your companion’s condition and can alert us to underlying problems. At Damonte Ranch Animal Hospital, we take pride in having advanced testing and imaging technology available so we can provide a higher level of care to you and your pet. Whether your pet is being seen for routine wellness care or for possibly more complicated medical problems, we will ensure they receive the best treatment possible.

The Importance of Lab Testing

We regularly perform blood and fecal tests with our in-house lab equipment, which can provide us with critical information about your pet’s health. Results can be obtained quickly with our in-house testing machines, but we also have the option of sending out samples to external laboratories if we need a more comprehensive profile.

Annual testing is important for both dogs and cats, because it can alert us to internal parasites, abnormal organ function, and the onset of an infection. Without routine testing, we would not be able to catch, and treat, these issues as effectively.

Digital X-ray for Dogs and Cats

Pets with acute or chronic illness or injury may need further workups for us to determine the best course of treatment. Our digital radiography equipment allows us to perform a non-invasive internal exam of your pet, which can help us diagnose issues such as:

  • Bone fractures
  • Inflamed joints
  • Tumors
  • Foreign bodies in the abdomen
  • Disease of the heart and lungs
  • Bone deformities

Another of our highly-advanced tools is our ultrasound machine, which uses sound waves to provide us with real-time images of the abdominal and thoracic organs. With ultrasound, we can evaluate the organs in better detail, and evaluate their size, shape, and overall appearance.
